Maker’s Mark

Based on the handwriting of founder Margie Samuels, I hand-lettered an alphabet which was transformed into a custom typeface by Jeremy Mickel of MCKL.

Fun Fact: D&AD Shortlist 2022, CLIO Silver Winner 2022

By studying the rhythm and nuance of her original letters, I was able to conjure the style of Margie’s handwriting and transform it to a typeface that can be found on every label! How do I know it’s on every label? Let’s just say I buy a lot of Maker’s Mark.
